AAST Center of Entrepreneurship
The Arab Academy is one of the organizations of the Arab League; established in 1973 with more than 10 campuses in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Syria, and United Arab Emirates, in addition to many training centers in Sudan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Center of Entrepreneurship was established as complete department to develop youth; offering various services for youth willing to develop their own startups in their different stages. The services offered by the center include the first Supply Chain & Logistics Incubator in MENA region, Mashreq Tourism Incubator in cooperation with the Arab Tourism Organization, and various other programs targeting university students.
The UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain was inaugurated on 22nd April 1996. Its mandate is to mobilize resources (finance, technology, know-how, managerial) from Bahrain and the Arab region to developing countries and economies in transition. In parallel, ITPO Bahrain has also developed the EDIP (Entrepreneurship Development and Investment Promotion) Programme, which aims at stimulating the emergence of new and growth of existing enterprises that produce goods and services for trade. Union of Arab Chambers
The Union is considered to be the legitimate representative of the Arab private sector, and its objectives are as follows: Achieving Arab economic integration within a comprehensive, effective and developed framework. Representing all economic sectors on Arab, regional and International levels from the perspective of the Arab Businessmen where they can express their views and aspirations, and support their role in developing and integrating their national economies. Enhancing the role of member chambers and their federations as representatives of business and private sector societies in their countries, and supporting their intellectual and administrative bodies and their technical and informational capacities to perform this role to the fullest extent.
Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Investment
Since its inception in 1939, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) played a prominent role in shaping the national economy of Bahrain and creating a vigorous private sector. Advocating the interests of members and the private sector in the official authorities, in addition to representing them locally, regionally and internationally via established committees, authorities, and federations. Benefiting from the existing centers i.e. the Enterprise Initiative Center , Media and Event Center. Benefiting from the findings of Business-related surveys, in addition to the proposals made in coordination with the concerned authorities.
Bahrain was identified as the Regional Focal Point Country for the Arab Region by IRC, jointly sponsored by UNIDO. The cooperation and support extended by the government and the community in the Arab region, led to the establishment of “Arab Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship and Investment Training” in Bahrain. In 2008, the UNIDO recommended its conversion from a regional into an International Center. Accordingly, in 2013 the ARCEIT was converted into AICEI. It contributes to the economic empowerment of youth and women regionally and internationally. It unleashes the spirit of entrepreneurship through various awareness and support programs for women and youth.
